Shane's epic 940 mile cycle ride for Alice's Arc raises £18,137

Shane is taking on this challenge in August, cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats, in memory of his nephew, Freddie.

After Freddie Carpenter passed away last October, his uncle Shane felt compelled to go out and do something big to raise money for Alice’s Arc. He decided he would cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats in August, some 940 miles, over 11 days. This will be a tough challenge as Shane is a 21 stone ex rugby player, not your average svelte cyclist! Shane’s journey began on Saturday 3rd August 2019, and saw him peddling an average of 85 miles a day across the entire length of mainland UK, finishing at John O’Groats on 13th August 2019. He has set up a donation page here, and also a link to his Facebook page for daily progress of his ride can be found here.

We are so grateful to Shane for undertaking such an epic fundraising challenge, in memory of Freddie.
